Carmen is an artist and designer, and she has been a continuous traveller for over a decade.
She has worked as a graphic designer, art director and creative director. After graduating in Communication Sciences in southern Spain, she gained a Master of Arts at Central Saint Martins University in London, with a focus on editorial design and a passion for image-making and collaboration. She has been working and living out of various cities since then, including London, Hong Kong, Berlin, and New York. Carmen now spends part of the year based out of Sevilla, Andalucia.
Her centre of attention as a visual artist is primarily around photography; in particular, its shifting perceptions, the contemporary state-of-affairs of the photographic image and its decontextualization. She thinks photography not as an enclosed field rather than a space of possibilities and results of an open process. Topics such as source, authorship, value or production are at the centre of her thoughts and interest.
Alongside her personal practice Carmen has worked on commercial assignments for clients such as music festivals, sports brands, museums or global companies.
